Walk
in Lincoln's Final Footsteps
Prior to April 3 and April
7, 1865 when President Lincoln
visited Petersburg, Virginia, he kept in touch by telegraph
sending and receiving text messages on events of the day.
The Petersburg Museum of
Technology and Trinity United
Methodist Church will hold an Open House Display and
Presentation "What Hath God Wrought" at 215 S. Sycamore
Street on April 3 and again on April 7, 2013.
The Presentation will
include period newspaper articles,
photographs, with telegrams and telegraph equipment
on display, how it worked and its historical significance.
A FCC commercial telegraph licensed operator and local
technical historian will be at all the scheduled events.
